At the Caesar's Palace event, Sony showcased its entire consumer product line for 2005, including about 20 new televisions, portable audio players, and digital cameras.

hopefully some of the LCD prices of their current models will come down this summer.

So still the same old 70" XBR, no updates, eh? I didn't look through the entire article, did it cover their ES line too?

Still no native MP3 support on the MD, oh well.

Sony NW-E505 Network Walkman - $150
512MB built-in memory; rechargeable lithium-ion battery rated for 50 hours of playback; three-line OLED display; one-handed jog-dial operation; skip-proof design; time/calendar indicator; native MP3 support

Sony NW-E507 Network Walkman -$200
1GB built-in memory; rechargeable lithium-ion battery rated for 50 hours of playback; three-line OLED display; one-handed jog-dial operation; skip-proof design; time/calendar indicator; native MP3 support

Though more expensive than all other flash based MP3 players on market, but that's some killer battery hours.

natively supports ATRAC3; MP3, WMA, and WAV can be converted and played

WTF, I thought they were going to finally support mp3's natively... ugh...

uh?

W/ the advent of netMD, sony made the huge mistake of making you convert anything into atrac3 before it could be played on the MD players... *supposedly* hi-md was suppose to change that... but it seems as though it hasn't, and you have to still go through the dumbass process of converting.

They do support MP3

link doesn't work for me

WOW so slick 🙂

I may have to get that one.

I am really sick of my iPods crappy battery life. The fact that it does after 2 days of being off sucks and the lack of an inline remote with a screen! I'll resign it to a portable HD.

I love my MD recorders and players 🙂.

The OLED screen looks AWESOME also.

I love the Sony stick remotes also. Very nice to control it that way and not have to take out the player to look at what track is playing etc.

I have a Sony MZ R30 and the MZ R50 (doesn't work but lasted for 3solid years an all too much dropping it 🙁) and my current MZ E900 ROCKS. Battery life is simply stunning and has the removeable battery of the gum stick variety. Very very nice size. Remote kicks ass. I must have at least 40 MD's. Sound quality does sound better then mp3 at 192kbps on the iPod but it isn't known for its great quality but it can't be 'that' bad right?

The other thing I like is the dry cell battery case that fits one AA 🙂. I just leave it in my bag for when the battery dies on me. Small and light and doesn't make the whole size of the MD that much bigger. The iPod one is much better and you have to pay for it.

The new Hi-MD looks great.

Can't wait to see it in action. The remote looks STUNNING.

So I'm not the only one who clicked through that link looking for the 70" SXRD?
