Hi I purchased a 3rd party lens and I get an error message in my camera. "No Lens attached Shutter is locked"

I know that you can disable the shutter function, but I do not know how and sony technical support were clueless.

Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated

If it's an autofocus lens that you bought, the lens is defective.

If it's a manual-focus lens that isn't compatible with the camera's electronics, then you can turn off the shutter lock in the "gear" part of the camera's menu system. I believe it's the second page of that menu and the option will be "Shutter Lock: Off, No Lens" or something similar.

Any more info on the lens that's causing the issue?

I shoot the Sony a700 and there is a menu option to enable/disable shutter without lens attached. Not sure if that is available on the a350. I use it for shooting with manual m42 lenses via adapter. No electronics, no AF, no nothing.. Works great though!

And if you need more help, there are a couple other forums out there with some longtime Minolta/Sony DSLR users that may have more info for you... dyxum.com, photoclubalpha.com, etc...

Either way, you'll need to provide more details about the lens, menu setup, etc...
