Uh, no. The 530 line is a rebadged Optorite DD0401 with Sony tweaked firmware. Their 510 line (4x) and earlier were their own design.
 
Oh, I see. Optorite makes MSI DVDwriters, but I really don't know if Optorite good or not.

thats odd...i read where they started using rebadged optorite(or was it optowrong?) drives instead of lite-on...



 
the coupons for staples don't work anymore = ( has anyone else ran into the same problem? they say they expire 4/14/04, but i guess that's wrong

Not true, just ordered an Epson R200 printer yesterday (used a $15 off $100) ...search at FW...codes there.


The header should mention the rebates and coupons!!!!

Okay. I know LiteOn's are good. But what about these Optorite's... How are they? I've never heard of them before.
 
I have an optorite and its been nothing but great for me. Takes every kind of media I've thrown at it. I think the deal was the early version of the firmware were crap. Update to the latest firmware and you should be fine.
