Sony 710a DVD Burner and Nero

Burned a Data dvd (Memorex) disc DVD+R single layer. It says it's writing at 16x/22,160 kb/s. It took 38min/27sec to burn 4,283mb!!!

I have'nt changed any settings and have kept everything at default.
Also, the lead in seems to take close to 2minutes!
Is there any setting I can change to make it burn faster or is this it? Seems slow to me.

I just updated Nero and the firmware on the drive to BYX5 but still no improvement!!! Can anyone tell me what's going on?

check to see if DMA is enabled... my guess is that your IDE config is in PIO mode
