In today's Sunday S.F. Chronicle ad-insert. They are $17.99 each but you get $9 Instant Savings. Don't know if they'll ring up just one like that.

How good are these CD-R's likely to be (compared to Taiyo Yuden, say)?

When you say crappy CRC do you mean that you have experienced problems? What specific issues have you experienced? Unplayable disks after write or some time after write?

I don't know if this is the media code, I doubt it, but the only thing in the ad resembling a code is: #282723.

I think you meant CMC, right? CMC Magnetics? They've been known to produce some rather crappy CDR's, some not so crappy. I got this from reading a bunch of threads, not personal experience. I have some CMC CDR's (Imation's) from around 3 years ago that have recorded and stood up OK so far, AFAIK. Anyway, if misterj is right a couple of posts back, these are NOT CMC's. Anybody got anything to say about the quality, particularly longterm of these? I know, the Assumed Dye type: Phthalocyanine is probably what CDIdentifier terms a short-term strategy, for what that's worth.
