Sony 32" XBR versus Sony 32" HS20 ???

Yo,
Found a place online called Crazy Eddie's, selling the Sony WEGAs at great prices. They have the

1. 32" Sony XBR HDTV ($1497)

and also the

2. 32" Sony HS20 HDTV ($1439)

Apparently the HS20 is the newer model, though most other retailers sell the XBR for $200 more. Anyone have any recommendations?

Thank you,
PCM

36XBR450

its the only way unless you go for the 40 incher 🙂

Edit: Crazyeddie kicks @ss.
I order by 36XBR450 on a friday and they had it delivered sunday night!!!!

Hey T.

I bought my 36XBR400 from Crazy Eddie too. But it took them a while to deliver it because I live in Jersey and they actually have their own guys ship the TV themselves.

I saw that new 34" Sony XBR and that thing blows the doors off my 36" XBR. I'd say it was about 3X sharper than my TV. Too bad it was 2X the price. If you can save up for that one, I would.

BTW: Anyone know why the XBR450 is cheaper than the XBR400? What's the difference?

Dog, you taking about the 40 incher right?

40 incher

No this!

This TV was unbelievable! I saw one side by side with the 36XBR450 and there was no comparison in picture. Even my wife who cares little about electronics or picture quality couldn't believe how good it looked. The picture was photorealistic. I think the 34XBR2 goes for about $3200. Damn. I should have gotten that!

damn Dog.
stuff keeps getting better and better...

3200 is a bit pricy though - maybe we should just go straight to Plasma 🙂

Yo,
Yeah, I saw that new $4000 34" XBR, couldn't believe how sharp the image was... figured that it was probably running an HDTV image, since the picture it showed was different from the DVD movie that was playing on all the other TVs. If I were a rich many, the 34" XBR would be the way to go.

PS. - What does WEGA stand for???

Why go plasma? Other than the coolness factor, I think the image stinks. Tube is still much better. I once saw a prototype HDTV that Sony had at a convention. The thing must have weighed 500lbs but the image it had was so stunning I couldn't believe it. They were showing a Knick game recorded in HDTV. The image was so real that the players looked 3D and you could just about stick your hand in the monitor and pluck them out.

This 34XBR2 is the closest I've seen to that. Not quite though.

I was watching a DVD at the store on the 34XBR2. It was being played on all the tvs there as well and it had the best picture by far. Even better than the projection screens and the 36XBR450.
