Just stopped by Circuit City Today B&M. They had a Sony CRX175A1C1 for $119.99 with $30.00 in-store rebate and $30.00 mail-in rebate.

Not a bad deal. There were plenty of the Sony Red Boxes on hand too.
Comes with B's recorder Gold, B's Clip, ArcSoft video Impression, Arcsoft Photo Base, Musicmatch and Retrospect Express.

Sounds Like a good deal to me.

I just got in on this deal after getting shot down on the liteon pacific digital deal at OD, and getting a bad Hival from office max. Afterchecking around a bit i found out that supposidly the a1/c1 version of the sony is actually a lite on drive. Supposidly you cn tell by the firmware number.

None of the CCs in my area have this in stock, but they do have it at the web site. There is no mention of the $30 CC rebate on the web site though; just the Sony one.

There was no mention of in-store rebate here either. It just rung up at 89.99 instead of 119.99..... Maybe a mistake at this store? I thought prices were set from central servers at the big chains....

May just have to go to store and check it out.

the ones with the 5YS2 are the one's that are supposidly lite-on's it seems like a great drive.

P.s. does anyoune know if there would be any benefit to changing the firmware to lite on firmware, or even if that is possible?
