Sony 19" monitors

I was wondering if there are any differences between the Sony G400 Trinitron and E400 display aside from the image restoration feature in the G400?

The feature sets on the Sony website appear to be the same. Are there differences in image quality between the two?

Thanks,

The refresh rate is different as well but besides that i don't htink there's much a difference. I want the 85hz at 1600 though, so that's just personal preference./

I have a 420GS which is an older model of the G400. I think the G400 has an
extra video input for a second computer & the E400 does not.

The G400 is manufactured to higher specifications. I think the E400 is made in Mexico while the G400 is made in Korea. That should tell you something.

I recently bought a Sony E400 and it's AMAZING. I had a MAG Innovision 810FD (which is comparable to the G400) and it sucked big time (blurry text, fuzzy corners) but it might have been dammaged. I found out that 1600x1200 is too much for a 19 inch (hell, there aren't even 1600 horizontal or 1200 vertical pixels on the CRT), so 1280x1024@85Hz is perfect for me, which is the recommended resolution for the E400.

Go for the E400, unless you want 1600x1200@85, in which case the G400 is the one.

I use the E400 at work and I think it's great. Agree with the others, if you want to run at a higher resolution than 1280x1024 then get the G400 for a higher refresh rate. Personally I think 1600x1200 is too hard on the eyes at 19".
