Sony 16 CDRW ----is it a good drive? (Hurry!!!)

I have the chance to buy this drive :Sony CRX168B/A1

It's a new drive, and i'm getting it a very good price. (110 shipped)
I'm wondering if it has any "issues" or incompatabilites. I see it dosn't have burn proof...does that even make a diffrence these days? I don't want any coasters!!!!!! 😀

What are your opinions of this drive?

<< looks nice but no mention of burnproof or the like which I consider very important. 🙂 >>

yeah...me 2
i wonder if i should just buy this sucker, and maybe sell it on egay or trade it for my dad's 12x TEAC w/ burnproof.

From what i've heard...burnproof isn't all that important these days, as processors are faster, and drives are better. i know ppl who have 8x driver w/o burnproof that have never had a coaster...

Heck, my computer has already done a dead lockup while buring a CD, and it still doesn't get a buffer underrun. That's even with an 8x CD-RW drive; it's a Yamaha 8x8x24; not sure if it has Burnproof.

burnproof is overrated...it doesn't do jack sh1t unless u like defragging while burning a CD...

i have it, and don't think it's ever kicked in yet...

don't access your rom/floppy while burning, don't defrag, enable DMA on all devices...u're ok.

Yes burnproof is very overly rated. It never kicked in once. Even a bigger buffer is much better, although I dont think I need that either.
