great drive I have one myself from the old compusa deal where I got it for 149 after mir .. thanks again compusa for putting both sku's in the add ... ne ways great drive barely ever burns a coaster unless your doing more than you should during a burn hehe... I have put mine under alot of load during burns and had no problems (3 mirc's a seti@home winamp, icq, ie 5.0, outlook express) go get yours

GoodToGo, i think you can get the 8x version at your local BB for $99 after MIR. My friend just bought this yesterday n its good.

Not to brag or anything, but I got the 12x drive for $99 after MIR. I went to Best Buy to get the IOMEGA 12x drive during the after-Thanksgiving sale, but they had sold out of it. So to make their customers happy, they were selling other models at the same price of the Iomega($150).
Now here's the cool part.....I saw the Sony 12x model and decided to go with that one. The price of it was advertised as $200, but this was only AFTER the rebate. The $250 price was written very small(so people who wanted to buy it would'nt see the higher price and just see the $200 price). The clerk that wrote up the note saying BB would sell the drive for $150 probably thought that he was only giving a $50 discount when he had actually given me a $100 discount(not including the rebate). So BB's marketing decision to make the $250 price in a smaller font than the after-rebate price actually worked against them(and helped me )
Anyways, I saw this topic and just had to tell you guys about it
