Son's Flag football team

I coach my 7 year old son's flag football team - the Packers. It's a team of 16 1st and 2nd graders. It's basically regular football without the helmet and shoulder pads on a 70 yard field. They're supposed to pull flags for a tackle, but tackles happen all the time. And because no helmets, you see bloody lips, knocked heads and eye pokes frequently. The kid's love it, though.

Thought I would share the standings through week 2. Use the drop down to check out the scores. We've scored more points than any team so far (I have an amazing kid at quarterback).

It's a 9 week season and, yes, we have playoffs and a championship game at the local high school's game field. So far, season looks good, though our next two games will be tough. After that, the schedule is much easier. We should be a shoe-in for the playoffs, unless I lose a couple of kids.

My 10 year old plays on the Varsity tackle Cowboys, Btw. The won their division last year and expect to win it again this year. Anyway, thought I would share.

Gotta leave soon, we have practice tonight.

I used to play flag football, it was my favorite sport.

I also used to coach 4 and 5 year olds, lots of fun.

I did that for 2 years (jr Flag). It's fun, but hard work. It's tough just to teach the kids which direction to run in.

ahh the days of playing tackle football with your friends, with absolutely no protective equipment. We were such idiots before HS... and during as well.
