Power Supply
Seasonic Super Tornado 400 Watt or Antec Phantom 350 Watt

Case fan Exhaust
Nexus 120mm or Globe 120mm
www.endpcnoise.com has nexus
www.mnpctech.com has globe

Fan controller
Get some sort of fan controller from anywhere. I have the sunbeam one (straightened the LEDs so they shine into the bottom of my optical drive and not into my eyes)

Notes:
Line the case with acoustic foam (can be found at www.endpcnoise.com)
Cover the top vent holes up so no sound leakage.
Suspend the Seagate on bungee cord (use www.silentpcreview for guide)

You have a very quiet system now.
If you want the next step, Zalman reserator for CPU and passive cooling for what ever graphics card you have (if better than 9800pro then Artic Cooling will be your soln); combined with Antec Phantom.

At this point your seagate is the noise source possibly with some electronic noise from the phantom.

Hope this helps.

there is no scientific proof that the foam will stop the noise. noise comes from vibrations inside the case. the more moving objects, the more noise there will be. your best bet is passive cooling, whihc is composed of plain heatsinks and no fans, htough a case fan is still required. coolmax has a 0db psu with no fans, but is pretty pricey. as for the sonata, it's one of the quietest cases out there. it's psu is very silent and it's 120mm fan is also very quiet. since that psu is far more then enough to power up your system, you shouldnt upgrade it. since i've seen your system honda, the primary noise in your system are the case fans and the psu. the hsf is also noisy, but the sonata case will make your rig super quiet. when we go shopping on black friday, i'll help you get everything you need.

You can actually get the Seasonic Super Silent 400W for around 60.xx + shipping from Microcenter after rebate ($21.00)

Click me!

It's actually rated the highest at Silentpcreview.com (the highest of the 400W models) for both silence and quality.

Chart here!

I have the Sonata case and, after using the Aerocool VM101 cooler on my GF FX5900XT card (fanless heatpipe), I can barely hear the system (using AMD Cool 'n' Quiet and Asus Q-fan control). The drive seeks are much more noticable now (even with 200GB Seagate SATA drive).

You might stick with the power supply in the Sonata - it also has two dedicated fan lines to control case fans based on temperature.
