Ok, so I recognize it was way overkill for the application, but hear me out.

My wife and I have a baby on the way in the next few weeks and I wanted to be able to play lullaby's from my iPhone for him. I had originally planned to buy a Jambox, but I was at Target looking at them (we got a ton of gift cards) and right next to the Jambox Mini was the Sonos.

I went back and forth between the JamBox ($180) and the Sonos Play 1 + Bridge ($250) and ended up going for the Sonos. I liked the idea of being able to expand later and also the fact that I wasn't relying on bluetooth to stream the music so I didn't have to worry about my phone being across the house. I'd be nice to add another Sonos speaker downstairs or in the master bedroom or whatever later.

Maybe I should have opted for an Airplay speaker instead and I'm still open to that.

I'm kind of just rambling and my wife has limited patience for my technology babbling. So any thoughts would be great.

I think Sonos is a little over priced but their product have the most options and are better for expansion in the future.

I use Apple Airplay and Bluetooth in my house and while Airplay is nice it's way more limited than Sonos.

I was kind of hoping we would see a new product like Sonos at CES and didn't hear much. I read LG had a system like Sonos but can't find any articles about it from CES so I'm wondering if it's vaporware now..
