Sonicwall Soho3 VPN Setup

OK, I'm trying to set up a VPN server so someone can connect to the network from home. I'm running a sonicwall Soho3. I've spent a bit of time so far on this and haven't been able to connect. Is there a simple way to just allow remote connections to the VPN so I know it's not security or rules that are stopping the connection? Also, should I be able to use the Windows XP VPN client or will I need to use Sonicwalls?

Thanks for any help that can be offered.

is there a router, or firewall on the home users PC. ?

if so you have to open the specific ports for sonicwall VPN, not sure the ports 100% , but u might have to open Ipsec ports 500udp there might be more i would check the sonicwall website under FAQ's might have more.
