Is this superior to the cheapo routers, and in what regard?
I currently use a BSD box, but can get this for free. What are your opinions?

Edit, it IS a soho2!

It is OLD,SLow, but fairly secure and VERY simple. If it is the original SOHO that is.
Your BSD box is much more powerful and scalable. They havent released firmware for the Soho in a couple of years now. I just got rid of mine and got the snapgear SME 550. The soho only allowed 3072 concurrent connects, capped my thruput to 4.5mbps ( I have a 9+ MB connect). IF it is free and you want to eliminate the BSD box, then go for it, otherwise, it is MUCH better then a linksys, etc, but is a model that is REAL long in the toth. The SOHO3 is now end of life.

Thanks, mboy. I figured it to be a little old, after searching for links for it.
