Sonic Adventure not working on dreamcast?!?

Hi,

i just got my dream cast set up and every game works except Sonic Adventure. It reads the disk and then nothing, just goes to the screen of Play, File, Music, and Setting. It was only 14 bucks but still i'd like to get it working. Any clue whats wrong w/ it?

Its likely a first run print of Sonic - many of those had troubles running on some Dreamcasts. I had the same problem - you need a newer copy of Sonic... I bought the rerelease under the "Sega All-Stars" label for $19.99 (should be that price everywhere). These newer releases of Sonic don't have the same problem.

Yeah, thats the problem most likely. I had to get my copy of Sonic Adventure replaced twice before I got one that would work on my DC.........it was very annoying.

i had a similar problem with crazy taxi a few months ago. i got for 15 bucks at best buy. i thought something was wrong with the DC but the crazy taxi cd (or is it gd? whatever) had an oily residue on the bottom. i wiped it off and it worked fine.

edit/ nevermind, i didn't even bother to read the 2 previous posts.
