Hi,

I am looking for a music notation sharing site to upload songs written by me. I have tried to google search, but all I found is illegal MP3 sharing sites. Is there any website that works like Download.com for you to upload your own music notation? Thanks.

Hope you understand what I am saying here. I am not looking for the archive, but a sharing site, a legal music sharing site for people to upload their own creativity into the website.

Yea, you can upload and download from that site. I gave you that because it's more centered on the arts, and you'll get a wider audience. If you just want to send it to a few people, pick any file sharing site, zip your music, and upload it that way. Google "free file hosting" to get a bunch of different choices.

Thanks for your reply. But it doesn't seems like the songs sharing site. I mean a site build specially for this kind of purpose.

Check out jamendo.com. I think you'd have to license your music under Creative Commons, but I'd assume this isn't an issue if you're wanting to share it. There are also different licenses available, for example you can make your music freely distributable for non-commercial use, but if somebody wants to use the music commercially they would have to get your permission.

Well, there is http://www.soundclick.com/. It shares audio only, so I don't believe you can put any notation or tabs up. It is made specifically for musicians.

At one time I had a plan on making a music collaboration website for musicians to put songs together with each other and share ideas.. Forums, audio and video(for lessons)uploads.. you basically would post up some tunes, label the audio with "what's needed" by checking checkboxes.. then a drummer adds his tracks, bassist his tracks.. and so on.

I was planning on using ASP for it after I finished my ASP class but that class turned out to be a joke and I didn't learn shit. That and you'd have to deal with high volume bandwidth usage.. I don't know the specifics on how to make money from ads and such. So for now, I consider it a dead idea.. a good one.. but a dead one.
