I cannot figure out the name of this tune.....it's hip/hop song..

I know a piece of the lyrics..but saw it on some commerical the other day..

"You can get with this...or you can get with that...you can get with this or you can get with that...you can get with this, 'cause this is where it's at..."

Anyone?> I already googled with no luck...

Dont remember...some puppet DJ and a bunch of kids dancing around..for like JC Penny's or something like that

Hmm...I was originally thinking Weapon of Choice by Fatboy Slim.
The sample was used in the song.

Not even a sample. Just a guy saying, "You can get with this or you can get with that" on the Fatboy track.

Choice is Yours is from '92, BTW. The commercial in question is the JC Penney ad for kid's clothes. Very cool ad, actually. The dancing kids are very talented and really get my 2 year old bouncing around. 😀

I've heard the commercial and the voice sounds exactlly the same in the Fatboy song.

What song did Fatboy Slim sample in Rockefeller Skank?
You mean the surf rock riff?

What song?
What sample are you talking about? There are probably dozens upon dozens of samples used in that song.

Lord Finesse. Usually songs only have one sample. Are you saying all Fatboy Slim does is take samples and splice them together to create a song?

I'm sorry. I didn't know you were completely tone deaf. Same number of syllables? Yes. That's about it.

They don't even say the same thing...

Black Sheep: You can get with this.

Fatboy Slim: You can blow with this.

That and the voice in the Fatboy Slim song is the same all throughout the song. Slim just recorded Bootsy Collins "talking," slowed down the track and vocoded the hell out of it. It's not a sample. It sure as hell isn't a sample of Black Sheep.

No, I don't know how he makes his music.

Hmm... maybe I'm thinking of a different commercial then. I seem to recall hearing the same sample used in some commercial or I am possibly tone deaf although, I've always thought I had a good ear.

Well, in a simplified manner yes. Although I wouldn't exactly call the, I'm sure, complex sequencing that is done to make his songs, "splicing".

But to answer your question, I bet you are either talking about the guitar sample or the vocal sample? Which is it or is it a different on?
