I stopped the downloading way back when they said to do so. I have friends that got in HUGE trouble over dowloading after that. 5000.00+ fining!

Just wanting to know if there is any service out there that provides songs at better quality than 128kbps? Is there one yet?
I'd be willing to pay $3.00 a song for good quality!!!!

sigh... i miss the world the way it was. When the last thing you thought about while jamming to your favorite tunes was the bitrate.

I don't want filler music! I want specific songs off cd's like most people do. Who likes every song on a single cd they purchase? Not many.

Answer to my question?

well, off every album there has to be 3 or 4 songs worth keeping around + having a massive archive of music gives you some nice bragging rights... and in your case it would create the illusion that you actual knew your stuff when it came to music

;)

Knew my stuff when it came to music? Does that include my 78 diff. cd's of Bing Crosby? **LMAO**
No one has answered my question yet. I like how people pull what you say into thier response without actually answering your question.

Is there a download site that provides above 128kbps quality?

I'm pissed at Napster right now. Been using them for a few months and have been happy. Then suddenly last week songs start vanishing from their site. I had a massive playlist setup on my GF's laptop that I would turn on and let run when I was doing stuff around the house. Now about every 4th song it stops playing and I go to see what is up and it has that lame ass message about the title not being available on the Napster service. WTF is up with that sh1t? It was there, where the hell did it go?

Find bands/artists who do whole albums of good music if you don't want to pay $20 for a CD with only 1 good song on it :D

artists pulled them.. or they took down the streamclip like they did for Motley crues new greatest hits album...

now you have to buy it to get the full songs..
you can turn that off so that it will play the 30 second previews.. thats what its telling you is the free streaming versions are gone.

all of mp3 won't give any royalties to the artists.

that being said there are no other lossless/high bitrate options. so the music industry sorta deserves whatever it gets.
itunes is probably the best shopping experiences though. quick browsing/searching well setup, and you play their song samples the same way you'd play your own library, and the browsing sample quality is very good..compared to say amazon which is a pain to use.

Until the music industry offers lossless minimum CD quality audio for download, they can go fvck themselves. I'm not going to pay to download any lossy mp3, no matter the bitrate.

128 AAC is actually higher than 128 MP3. I think it's somewhere equivalent b/t 160-192 MP3. (Regarding iTunes)

I like how the audiophiles are saying "oh bull sh!t I'm not paying for compressed, lower quality music". Please, like you can really tell the difference while jacking off listening to music playing out of a $100 set of computer speakers.

I can easily tell the difference with both my Computer setup...... Sony Reciever/$300. Headphones and my $5,000 Entertainment center/ $1,400 speakers! All the hiss crap is there. You Ipod lovers have no clue on what quality music sounds like.

Compare 64kbps to 256kbps....... When you have good equipment, you'll have to take an excedrin because of the constant pops, clicks & crap! Granted 128 to 256 is less, but get it on good speakers and I can tell you quick!
