Sonava beetch- Gas additives DO work!

Hayabusa Rider

The Hayabusa has seemed a little weak coming off the line lately. A slight hesitation off idle.

So I bought a bottle of fuel injector cleaner and rode it about 10 miles on the highway, then got off to go home. I stopped for a red light and when I gave the throttle a twist, the front wheel came right up. 😀

Much much better now.

Ahh, life is good 🙂

You, much more so than the average dweeb, should understand the placebo effect, Winston. 😛 Of course it comes off the line faster now. It is what you expected. 😀

Of course they work. We're talking about carb/injector cleaners here, not Slick 50.

you also have to figure most people park thier bikes for a fairly large portion of the year, injectors and carborators get build up in a relitively short period of time, most people who have bikes that store (don't actually get them out and drive them over 20 miles to blow "the soot" out) them should use injector cleaner on thier 1st tank after it's been stored for over 45 days. on cars if you don't comute more than 6 miles a day(one way), you should use injector cleaner about once every oil change (3 months).

They do work but the effect is either:

1) Very temporary.

2) Negligible.

3) Outweighed in the cost/benefit ratio.

Therefore, additives other than whats already included -

if your injectors are only slightly dirty, cleaners CAN give you a long-term and decent effect. Obviously if the stuff is caked on or you buy really crappy gas, the cleaner won't work too well.

Of course, there's nothing like a good ol' Italian tuneup to clean that engine out.
