SonataII - Powersupply?

Yesterday my SonataII would not fire up. I checked the PS switch, jiggled the power cable, switched it back to hot and the front panel switch then fired it right up. Today same problem only now it won't fire at first, when I do the PS off, jiggle, PS on the case power button will only fire the system as long as the button is pushe all the way in, and even then it just sort of sputters the power.

Sound like a failing PS?

I bought the case because of the supposed quality (Hah!) and the firewire/USB on the front - instead of going back to Antec once again is there a better $100 case out there with a PS and front ports?

Thanks!

Use an ohm meter or test light to check the power on switch at case front.
Replace the switch if bad.
Just replace the PSU with an Enhance ENP-5140GH. It will Froogle for <$60 and is a VG unit.

Good case is always without PSU. If you are on tight budget I reccomend Fortron.

Edit: PSUs that go with cases are cr@p!

Sounds more like a bad connection. (power cord, pwr switch, pwr connetor etc).

Remove the PSU from the case. Jumper green to black on the ATX connector and measure all rails with a DMM. Remove the jumper and make sure you have 5v Stdby.

Sonata II comes with SmartPower 2.0 450W. I've had mine for well over a year and it's been working fine for me. It goes well with the case since it is one of the most quiet PSU's I've used.
