Is there such thing as a barkless dog? I guess if I get a super small dog it could always stay in side. Any suggestions.
For the Smarta$$es out there Let me save you the trouble:

Buy a House!
Buy a Cat!
Move!
Sell your Son!
Muzzle?
Big Mexican Rat instead!

You get the idea. Well any real suggestions?

You can buy bark collars, which can help control barking. One type will give the dog a shock when he barks while another kind will just emit a very high pitched tone outside of the human hearing range, but drives the dog nuts.

bark collars work really well.. most would say they are cruel but eh I've tested one for a friend and it hurt but I would learn my lesson pretty quickly...

There is a barkless dog, not sure of spelling but it's something like 'Basingi'?? I don't think it would be so good for a child's pet though, temperment wise.

Most small dogs are not good for kids.. I think smallest that I have heard positive things for is a Pug. I would seriously consider moving if you want to get a dog, if they are not permitted @ your current apt.

Seriously, don't get a dog. Personally I think it's cruel to own one while living in an apartment.

Wow I'm impressed! Some logical suggestions.
But I guess I should just wait until we buy a house, It would be cruel to make him be inside all the time.
And AIBO is not an option, for the price I could buy 5 pedigree dogs!

Oh well I'll tell my son "Too bad Sucka" :D

thanks for the comments.

Birds Suck! They make more noise than a dog would. I KNOW!!!

Those African barkless dogs seems like too much work.

My parents had no problem saying"no" when appropriate.
Serves me well today.
Maybe something today's parents have forgotten.
