It's in the low 40s outside and my central heating system just stopped working.

Dude, Seattle's not that cold (though it was snowing a couple hours ago)... put a coat on.

I am from MN though, so I guess it doesn't bother me as much.

Dude, at least your neighbor isn't using their fireplace and the smoke created goes into the air intake of your central heating system...

My house smells of smoke. I need an electrostatic air cleaner.

Let's just hope it doesn't snow though :)

That's one thing I HATE about Seattle. Why on earth do people here need to use wood all the time? The air pollution from it gets pretty bad sometimes. That's why we have gas/oil/electricity. I don't care if it's cheap, it makes the air crappy.

Make sure the filters are clean. Most new systems will quit working if the filters get too dirty.

I've never used the heater once in my apartment, even when it's gotten down into the 20s.

I'm using my laptop to heat me right now. One of the few times it's actually a good thing that dell has heat signature of a small fussion reactor.

Turdmist and me both agree that you should be banned for your vapid antics. You can call me Lord Rogodin, lad.

It's 30°F outside here, and the window right behind me is open :D (My cat likes the view, and my comp more than heats this room, so it's a nice compromise)

Man I think it's like 60 degrees outside! Brrrrrr, damn cold southern California weather!

:p

You shouldn't need a heater; if you're a true computer enthusiast, your computer is supposed to output enough heat to keep your whole house warm! Perhaps you need more fans? More fans = more heat generation (and more heat removal from the case, hopefully every component is overclocked to produce even more heat). Perhaps it's not the most efficient heater, but it's certainly the most fun!
