Who schedules a mandatory meeting at noon on Friday and doesn't provide lunch?! 😡

Update: Since the meeting was regarding a pay raise I'll let it slide....this time

People that come to you 5-10 min before you leave on Friday with "urgency" when you haven't seen or spoke to them ALL WEEK.

dude to budget issues that dont really exist we can no longer provide lunch during lunch meetings

hell even dept meetings dont get provided food anymore

We used to have monthly meetings that served no purpose but always had a good serving of food. Those have since been changed to once every few months.

People who do this should be shot. At my last job we had some east coaster schedule a recurring one on thursdays that went from 11:30 to 1:00 west coast time. I stopped bothering after the first one.

Another one was when I was working some issue with an east coast customer, and the sales guy jumped into the email thread saying that we should tackle it first thing at 6am. I replied all stating that as I was on west coast time that would translate to 3am, and I would not be joining the meeting.

Teach them a lesson, and take tins of anchovies. Eat them during the meeting.

Good idea. I'll heat up some fish and burn some popcorn too!

A son of a bitch, that's who.

Our office is in the EST and we have an office in the PST zone and I will admit there are occasionally some unavoidable time conflicts resulting in lunch meetings for one or the other site. Certainly not the norm let along a recurring meeting although a few of them do like calling at 4:58pm EST needing help with something

Skip the first 20 mins of the meeting to go and pick up some food from Chipotle or whatever.

Then, chew loudly with your mouth open in the meeting.

my pet peeve is people that I have been emailing all week with no response. Now its 4pm on Friday and you need things done?

Good luck

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

Good luck

Shens. Your Mom locked the basement door.

😛

My wife's work place use to do that, and she lives an hour away from her workplace. Thankfully they use go-to-meeting now for meetings.

edit: i should get paid for that, I'm like in a go-to-meeting commercial!

Friday meeting at noon, with no lunch provided?

Think, Exterous, Think! That means, someone's about to explain the dire situation the company is in, "heck, we couldn't even afford lunch for you today." The lack of lunch thrust up as proof of how bad the economic condition is for your company. Then, you'll be all layed off. But, as a parting gift, you can go home at 3 and get paid til 5.

The only thing you can do is get a jump on everyone else. If you start at 8am, that gives you 4 hours tomorrow to load your car up with miscellaneous office supplies that are laying around.

My old boss to the T, except I would know she was coming because I would hear things through the grapevine and would expect it.

This, told by the CEO, who was flown in on a private jet.
