Like most things Chinese their bolts and other hardware are complete garbage. They may have grade markings on them but that is a joke. If you have to use Chinese lag bolts make the hole about halfway between the recommended drill and the overall stated diameter of the lag bolt. You may even break them then in harder wood. Have I mentioned that they are crap?

What do you make and where someone can buy it? good things that chinese can not produce?

I'm even trying to find a pair very good quality and long lasting men's underwear that's made in U.S.A. with no luck so far...and you complain about drywalls and lag bolts...

When and what was last GOOD QUALITY american product? That could make a trade balance even?

It has been a while and that is the problem. I have a HP laserjet with USA parts , made in the USA and it is now 15 years old and still prints great. It weights a ton but it was made to last.

Galvanized or stainless is fine, but I've never been in a Home Depot that didn't sell cheap, zinc-plate lag bolts that will be exactly right for this.

You can order grade 8 stuff if you like the colour, but don't go thinking you need it;)
