Octopi are really fuggin' smart. I love 'em. I have a documentary on cuttlefish from ages ago that I still watch with wonderment.

reminds of something i saw on tv. research lab was losing fish, so they installed a camera. turns out an octopus in one tank was getting out, walking across a table, hopping in a different tank, having dinner, then walking back home

"You've got two empty 'alves of coconuts and you're living in them."
"What?"
"Where'd you get them?"
"I found them."
"What?! Found coconuts in the ocean? Coconuts are terrestrial, not aquatic."
"They could have been carried"
"What? A bass carry a coconut? Why, just to stay afloat, a bass needs to beat its fins 43 times every second. It couldn't carry a coconut"
"Maybe it was a large mouth bass"
"Oh, well maybe a large mouth bass, but not a sea bass. That's my point."
"But, large mouth bass live in fresh water."
"Oh, right."
"Suppose two sea bass.."

Haha, wow. I love these types of videos. That's ultra interesting. I've always heard that octopus's were very smart, and the only thing that is inhibiting them from progressing further is their lifespan?

You know, I have never been religious and think it is pretty much a bunch of crap intended to control the masses......but it is people who think like yourself that probably have a lower IQ than that octopus.

Those things are obviously a lot smarter than we give'em credit for. Scary, actually. :Q
