Son Killed in Head-On Crash With Dad's Car
AP
PEMBINE, Wis. (Sept. 6) - A man drove into oncoming traffic and struck his father's car, killing himself and seriously injuring his father in northeastern Wisconsin, the sheriff's department said Tuesday.

Cory Ehlert, 31, was driving east when he crossed the center line early Monday and hit a westbound vehicle driven by his 53-year-old father, Kerry Ehlert. Both were alone in their vehicles.

The son's girlfriend had called the father to the son's home to assist at a family disturbance, Marinette County Sheriff Mike Kessler said in a statement.

The son died on the scene and the father underwent surgery at a Green Bay hospital. He was listed in fair condition Tuesday, hospital spokesman Jim Reck said.

Alcohol and speed contributed to the accident, the sheriff said.

I heard that when they got to the hospital the doctor said 'I can't operate on this boy, he's my son'....but how is that possible? 😉

This type of thing makes the national news about once a year (where a family member is killed hitting another familiy member). In discussions, people claim it is a horrible coincidence / irony. I personally feel it is not a coincidence or irony. There is a good reason that those cars were the most likely cars to collide that day. Just think about it, two cars with two highly distracted drivers driving at the same time in the same place (one entering an area and the other leaving that exact same area). The son was fleeing a disturbance and the father was rushing to a known disturbance. Of all cars that day in that city, those were the two most likely to collide with each other. Same place at the same time with two distracted drivers.

all in the family...great show. that's tragic but such is life

reminds me of the story of the guy who had his car stolen... so he hops into his other car and starts driving around in an effort to find it. The guy gets into a car crash with the man who stole his other car... now he's got two wrecked cars on his hands.
