Somthing wrong with epox-8k7a?

I use a Zoom v9.2 usb modem with epox-8k7a mb. The modem ofthen went to die and win98 often poped up a window to indicate a serious question. Is this question relative to the usb question I've heard before? I hate to hard reboot so often. thanks.
