hey i just signed up for team at...but the seti driver seems to be running all the time...not just with my screensaver...i musta messed something up...i followed the instructions the letter except i couldnt select "default screen saver" option so i just put it on blank...i am running xp pro if that helps
 
Sounds like you have the SETI Driver along with the command-line style of SETI client. If you'd rather run the screensaver version, you can download it from here and install it, and it should now appear in your list of screensavers! 😀 Welcome to the Team! 🙂
 
The screensaver is much slower than the cli and seti driver which is why most people runs that instead of the screen saver
 
As Freewolf said, the screensaver version does work much slower. Either way, we're glad to have you on the TeAm!
 
Yep even if the scn svr version is optimised the CLi/SETIDriver is still about 25% faster ,not to mention that SETIDriver can store WUs for you too (incase the S@H servers go down).

To optimise the GUI(scrn svr) version you need to make sure that the graphics don't show ,at least not for long.
If you have it set to 'always run' only then you just need to minimse the window when your not looking at the pretty graphics😉
If you have it set as a screensaver then you need to go to display properties,screen saver,screen saver settings ,then tick 'blank screen' & set it to less than 6mins.
Doing that will avoid doubling WU times!:Q ,though the CLi is still faster like I said😉
 
Also, under the Settings part of the Screen Saver section, you should set "Turn Hard disk off" to Never, that will bring WU times down a lot as well.
