I was sitting trying to d/l flashplayer and play an old megadrive game at the same time and suddenly things slowed down to a crawl and then the mouse went a bit crazy not that it was zooming everywhere but whenever i clicked somthing it would click it hundreds of times. I kept going to shutdown and it did standby instead eventually i got to the restart button and it said "there is 1 other user on the comp blah blah this action will remove them". Does this mean somone got into my comp!?!? If so where can i get a free firewall and some antivirus software?

Maybe someone managed to login using Remote Assistance. Go to Control Panel, System, Remote and disable it. That doesn't really explain the multiple mouse clicks though. Maybe it's a virus.

This sounds more like a problem with the mouse driver. Even if someone were to gain access via Remote Desktop, your mouse wouldn't "go crazy" and click "hundreds of times". This behavior would occure with a funky mouse driver, and maybe even with a screwed up mouse.

Indeed, if it was a remote desktop connection he wouldn't even see what the other use was doing as the console session is put back to the welcome screen.

Anyway, here is where you can download ZoneAlarm Basic and here is where you can download Grisoft AVG Free Edition antivirus software. Make sure to enable heuristics and compressed-file scanning, and have it update its virus database frequently (daily would be a good idea).

If your system might be infected and runs WinME or WinXP, here's how to disable System Restore and rid yourself of SR files that can harbor viruses. Hope that helps.
