Somewhere in a different universe there is a plumbers BBS. There is a thread there that says:
Some computer nerd calls me up today, and wants me to plumb his new mansion with 2.5" risers going to the second floor, and use PVC pipe for his DWV.....geez, why dont these people just buy manufactured houses, how stupid can they be?
In the electricians universe BBS:
Some dot com guy calls me today and wants his new addition on his house wired in 14/2.....I tell him the standard is 12/3 these days, then he tells me the amp load in the kitchen needs 220v. I swear I am going to kill the next one who does this. Why do they even buy houses if they dont know anything about them? Make them use kerosene lanterns....all the other electricians chuckle in agreement.
In the car dealership universe BBS:
Some computer nerd comes in and says his car hums, but his buddy who has the exact same setup, this doesnt happen.
I tell him there has been a TSB on this problem for months, he looks at me like I have two heads. Like we have to call them and tell them about every TSB, damn people just need to be forced to walk. All the other dealership dudes tell stories about the non-mechanical dude who came in their shop.
In the contractors universe BBS:
Some IT guy calls me to replace his driveway, tells me he knows that 2500psi mix with fiberglass mesh is the product he wants. I swear I am gonna explode next time this happens, who doesnt know that ANSI always requires 4500psi with steel mesh in overlays. All the other contractors concur that the guy is a dork and needs to be banned from ever stepping foot on quality 5500psi mud.
In the computer universe BBS:
Some plumber/electrician/mechanic/construction dude calls me and wants help configuring his TCP/IP stack to run his new cable modem, like who doesnt know how to do this. Damn people should not be buying computers....idiots.
So from now on only complain about your stupid customers if you have that rare ability to know everything about everything.
