Somewhat quiet upgrade from GTX670 4GB?

Looked at some 970s on NewEgg tonight and I see coil whine mentioned left and right. My setup is for audio, with a side of gaming, and I hate noises like that. Fans are fine, so long as they're quiet during normal operation.

1080P gaming, rig in sig. Any suggestions?

If you barely game, I don't see how spending extra on a 970 is worth it over a $250-260 290:

If you want to reduce the chance of coil whine, wait for a sale on a PowerColor PCS+ 290 or get a Refence 980-cooler style 970 (BestBuy).

The minimum upgrade I'd consider from a 670 would be a 780 Ti or a 980.

For the 980s: Nvidia's ref, Asus Strix, GB's ref all look good to go with coil whine.
