lol. I say real. But wouldn't they be pointing it out to the field rather than backwards?

That's one of those things that if I saw it with my own eyes in the stadium, I'd still ask whether it was Photoshopped. No one can be retarded enough to create that sign and still possess the basic motor skills necessary to hold the sign up.

Maybe just showing the fans...

The UC-Irvine coach made some dumb remark about LSU fans not knowing the civil war was over(big time paraphrase). That was before the series started.

(talking about Neb fans) ?They?re not on you, and they?re not rude and they?re not vicious and they know the Civil War is over and they know how to act,? Gillespie said, before backtracking somewhat. ?Now, I don?t mean to suggest [that is the case at LSU] I really don?t.?

article

sometimes things make more sense when you know the rest of the story

lol... how is that NOT saying LSU fans don't know the civil war is over? If that wasn't what he was implying then why did he even bring it up? I don't buy it.

sorry, that last comment wasn't directed at you (was just putting a link to show the coach's comments you mentioned)

After reading that article I can clearly see how that would piss LSU fans off very much. With that said, good for them for showing the coach what's up.

ok, yes it was done, but like others said, the picture alone does not paint the whole story.

Their coach said that LSU fans don't know the civil war is over. That pissed off a bunch of us as the common stereotype for a southerner is a stupid hillbilly hick who is just like that.

Well, it is a stupid stereotype and there is nothing we can do about it, but when a coach calls the opposing fans this it kind of pisses people off.

It would be similar if the LSU coach called all UC Irvine fans "gay liberals" since they live in CA.

Well, UCI won the first game and LSU came from behind to win the 2nd game(since it is a best of 3 series). For the 3rd game, these fans brought this sign. Yes it was distasteful, but it was obviously in reference to their coach, not as a truthful statement.

BTW, the UCI fans were sitting about where the picture was taken so the sign was to show them.

I was at the game, but was sitting in the outfield and did not see this sign at the time.

Well, I'm not going to lie... I thought it was a bit funny.

Mikey, how do you like your chances against UNC?

I know that the Civil War wasn't completely about slavery... but most rednecks are referring to it in that context.

Anyone who agrees with slavery and is proud of the fact is an animal.

Man, that game Sunday was a miracle, down 7-2 in the 8th. Season was basically over, and to now be in Omaha, this is all just bonus for me.

I think UNC is a very good club. LSU is hot right now, but I think this is a really tough matchup. On the other hand, if I'm UNC, I can't be happy facing LSU to start the CWS. I'd give the early nod to UNC, but a close one.

I really wanted to make the trip but couldn't make it happen, but if LSU makes the finals, I'm driving up for the final 3 game series.

I know I wouldn't be happy to face LSU in the CWS. The fact that they don't reseed is absurd. Fresno St. took over the 3 seed.

UC Irvine had a good pitching stuff but I don't think they are on the same level as UNC. And UNC has faced and beaten two of the best hitting clubs in the country(FSU/Miami). I'd have to give the edge to UNC, but I would never bet against LSU.
