So get this crap...
Recently my sister and some of her friends (all around 16-18 yr old) were at some subdivision where I guess they hang out at often? Anyways, one of the guys my sister was with apparently has some enemeys. A bunch of kids in another car (or two?) showed up to jump one of my sisters friends. They started trying to jump this kid and in the process one of the kids ended up kicking my sisters car and putting a dent in it.
Now here's what happens that gets my sister and her friends in trouble. They took off (didn't want to fight I guess?) and the cars went two ways. One of the cars pulled into a garage they thought was vacant (newer subdivision, a lot of new houses) and shut the garage door. The other car was being chased by these guys and ended up going to a roundabout. To get away they had to drive through someones grass.
They all got away - but now they are in trouble with the law. There are about 7 kids in total that are getting 50 hours community service, having to pay damages of a total of $900 (for driving over a lawn?) and have to write some bullcrap essays.
Now, what Im wondering is why the hell do good kids get 50 hours of freaking community service for running from people trying to harm them? Thats ****** bullsh!t.
I guess they are taking some sort of deferrment program or something, so that they don't have to go to court and risk having this on their permanent record. But still, seems like very harsh penalties for kids who really were doing nothing wrong.
If someones chasing me with a knife and I run into a house I think is empty to seek refuge. When its all said and done, do I get charged with trespassing? WTF
