I have a PC in the basement which I share with my brother and sometimes when I take it out of hibernation/standby it cannot get an Internet connection and I have to reboot to get it back. It is quite annoying and I'd like to figure out why it's happening and how to prevent it or fix it.
This computer has 2 profiles and the profiles switch back n forth often. It also has a standby rule where it goes into standby if idle for over 15 minutes. The only time I notice the Internet connection dead is coming out of a standby.
I have tried the "Repair" function on my LAN connection in Control Panel -> Network Connections. This did not work.
I have also tried in command prompt typing ipconfig /renew but this responded with "there is no adapter".
I just now downloaded Winsock fix tool thinking maybe that may help but this is after I rebooted so I cannot test it to see if it works now, I need to wait for this problem to occur again.
Anyone familiar with this problem?
