I'm covering for a supervisor on the night shift tonight. Since I don't get overtime, HR let me take the day off, then come in for 6 hours at night and get credit for 8.

I walk into the office, and our marketing guy comes up as I walk into the door: "We have a new client that's running a home theater show at his store, want to come? You're the expert in this stuff and I need to fit in."

Sweet!

I took off for 2 hours of eating shrimp and cheese, drinking wine, and seeing some of the COOLEST home theater and automation systems I've ever seen. They demoed a Mitsubishi LED TV with a built in 18 speaker sound bar---that thing is now officially on my "Will buy within 12 months" list.

Anyway, I'm now back at work half drunk, full of seafood, and neffing on ATOT for 2 more hours ;)

This happened in one of my old co workers offices, so he bought a model train and put a long thin dowel on it with a piece of paper attached to the end of it and had it go around in a circle. It was hilarious.

Woohoo...your HR department apparently views you as non-exempt and the company is reaping the benefits of classifying you as exempt...and you think it's awesome! Win for HR.
