My roommate has had a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT sitting outside for the better part of a year - hasn't moved because it didn't run right and had a CEL (basically he hates the car, didn't feel like fixing it, and bought another one).

A buddy of mine from NH just moved out this weekend and stopped by today (have to get him to register here at some point). We pulled the front three plugs (V6) and they looked about as old as the car. Compression across the front 3 was ~180...motor seems solid, just didn't run very smoothly (would hiccup and stutter through the rev range).

So, we put (6) new plugs in it (not nearly as bad as the crybabies on the Mitsu forums make it sound, btw). Fired right up, no CEL even after idling for a while (before it was lit in about 5min). Throw in a couple cans of this stuff and fresh gas and its purring like a kitten.

So, yeah. Maintenance FTW.

I'm surprised you went the snake oil route jlee 😛

Friend said he ran it through his motorcycle engines and it cleaned them up really well - this poor thing was filthy inside. The intake manifold was so dirty I didn't want to clean it for fear of cleaner and filth making giant puddles in the cylinders..figured we'd let it run with this stuff and clean itself.

And I wasn't about to drain half a tank of 1yr+ old fuel. 😛

Note we did get it running properly before we added snake oil. Pfft.
