Serious question: Would you object to paying for a date with someone attractive? I'm not talking about a hookup, but an actual first date. I just saw an interesting news segment for this website:

https://www.whatsyourprice.com

It's kind of a first-date service. Whereas Tinder is supposedly more for hookups, and eHarmony is for finding long-term relationships, and other websites are for "business" relationships, this service simply has you pay for a first date with someone attractive. The way the segment spun it was that you skip having to go places & meet people and the whole social awkwardness that can come with that. At first, the idea sounded ludicrous, but then I remembered the dating scene...I was pretty shy at the time & it can be hard to find people to date if you're not super-social IRL, and being lonely stinks. I have a number of single friends in this situation now...they work, maybe they don't drink (so no bars) or don't dance (so no clubs), and they complain about not being able to find people to actually just go on a date with, so maybe this idea isn't as bad as I first thought it was. I thought online dating sites were kinda crazy when they first came out, but I have several friends who have ended up marrying people they've met through them, so Internet dating seems like a pretty legit way to meet people these days, I guess. Growing up in the pre-Internet 80's & 90's, the idea still kinda creeps me out though lol.

Also I'm curious, if you don't mind sharing - why don't you drink? I'm not a drinker & it is considered VERY weird, especially where I live now, where social drinking is the norm.

medical interaction reasons mostly. it would almost certainly cause seizures and probably liver damage too.

I've consumed over $1k in alcohol tonight. Not that I've actually had to pay for it but 23yr old Pappy van Winkle ain't cheap

That's one of the big reasons I don't drink. It's expensive & I have too many kitchen appliances left to buy. Food > booze 😀

I drink coolaid and milk. These are the real beverages for men. Achohol are for females because they just can’t relax if they aren’t drunk.

Cut out the caffeine, etc xanthines, AND the sugar. You won't appreciate the simple truth of that until you do it.

Thread theme song.

I used to spend my nights out in a barroom
Liquor was the only love I've known
But you rescued me from reachin' for the bottom
And brought me back from being too far gone

......

I've looked for love in all the same old places
Found the bottom of a bottle always dry
But when you poured out your heart I didn't waste it
'Cause there's nothing like your love to get me high

Bah drink Coffee, dark unsweetened cocoa powder, stevia, and a tablespoon or two of unsalted butter mixed together. That mixture is perfect and very delicious.🙂😛

Kool-Aid and milk are children's beverages...but then again, anyone who thinks AMD is the best...has to be a child...or very childlike fanboy.

Dude, you don't need it. I can drink if I want and hardly do. I'll go a month without touching alcohol and not realize it until I think about it. Fuck the norm, live your own life.
