Even though, I wonder why it doesn't work when I haven't even had it plugged in for six months.

I have cleaned the heads like 20 times now and it is still screwed up, what now?

Smash it?

How is it screwed up? We can't help you unless you be more specific...

When I do the nozzle check the solid blocks of colors which should be solid have lines running across them.

Are you using ink that's been sat there for 6 months? If so it's probably dried and clogged up the nozzles. You can try soaking the nozzle bit of the cartridges in some rubbing alcohol for ten minutes or so, it might loosen things up. If not you'll probably have to buy new cartridges.

I had a similar problem before with my HP, and cleaning the heads didnt help... Later I found out the problem was this:

Beside the heads there are a couple of small plastic pins that help keep the paper level when printing... those pins have dust and other crap stuck to them and that's what causing the problem... You might want to look for something similar with your Epson...

Yeah, I could buy new ink but it is still not going to come out of the clogged heads I would guess.

epson nozzles are built into the printer not the cartridge. afaik they're not removable like the canon ones are.

Ah okay, my bad. Never had an Epson printer before. Was worth a shot.

I was just about to say the same thing. The Stylus Photo 780 perhaps? That is the worst one I have encountered. I had similar problems. I cleaned it 10+ times with an ink cartridge that was about 1/4 full. Mutiple cleanings with brank new ink cartridges fixed the problem.

I guess I have to try and figure a way to manually clean the heads and order new ink.

I still have a little black left I printed text off and it looks subpar but, better than nothing at this point

I did that to my old epson printer, I don't know why I bought another epson printer it was a mistake, I wouldn't have but, hot deals got the best of me.

My parents have a really nice HP, when I go home I love playing with it, everything works perfectly and runs smoothly.
