so the only guy you like is the biggest douchenozzle of them all?

LOL the fact that you could even possibly imagine in any realm of existence that Guy Fieri isn't the biggest douchebag in the history of the world blows my mind. The guy is a walking disgrace to the human race.

I prefer talented chefs over whatever the fuck he claims to be. His restaurants are awful beyond words.

On the topic of Alton Brown, i watched a bunch of his shows and while his shows are very informative , i do not liek his attempt at comedy, his show could do without it.

I always DVR Man vs. Food and Diners Drive-ins and Dives, and then wish I was at those places.

The only one close to me was the Juicy Lucy or something in Minneapolis. Apparently two places claiming they're the "original" so I'd have to try each!

That's exactly how I feel too. The man obviously is a wealth of culinary knowledge but his slapstick antics and overly pantomimed way of speaking drive me absolutely crazy. He would be so much better without that ridiculous shtick but people seem to worship him so we're obviously in the minority.

I'm fixing to buy Guy Fieri's knife set.

http://www.ergochef.com/guyfieriknives/

They're weighted perfectly, and are shaped to fit my massive hands just right. Not to mention, i love the completely outrageous design on them lol.

And living about 20 minutes from the Salt Lick is next to godliness.

Fieri is a big douche. I watch his show despite the fact he is on it, I would much rather they have a different host.

That said Flay is intolerable, I cannot even watch that guy for a minute.

And Giada just needs to get over it and start doing porn already. Her entire show is about her cleavage.

I bet her face literally peels away from her skull when she cums. She's in the kitchen pulling a roast out of the oven with a face like she's won a billion dollars. I can't imagine what she'd look like with veins popping out her forehead creaming. Would probably scare the fuck out of me and ruin the moment!

Giada De Laurentiis (swoon!)
Aida Mollenkamp
Bobby Flay
Alton Brown
Guy Fieri
Rachael Ray
Robert Irvine
are the only reasons to watch Food Network

Tyler Florence
Ted Allen
Jamie Oliver
Marc Summers
Mario Batali
Paula Deen
all annoy the crap out of me.

Guy Fieri has the best job in all of TV, possibly the best job in the world. He just drives around and eats at dives. I usually look up places the show has hit if I'm going somewhere.

Alton Brown makes good shows too.

Everyone else, I can take or leave. Chopped is one of those shows that drives me nuts. Four cocky contestants, three arrogant judges, and an entirely stupid concept. "Ok folks. The basket has - pasta, tomatoes, garlic, and a leather boot!"

No way - Zane Lamfrey has a much better job. He travels the entire world, and gets drunk with the locals as well as eats at the best places

Bourdain has the best job hands down. Also makes one of the best shows.

Call me shallow or judgmental, since I've only watched Fieri's show in passing, but I cannot stand anyone who looks or dresses like that seriously. He's such a tool.

I agree with Platypus.

Yes because everyone should be judged on how they look - even though he seems to have one of the coolest personalities on television

At work... and watching the 101 Chowdown Countdown...

the 101 best places to eat...

and i'm starting to crave half the stuff they show.

Blame them for a lot of things, but 101 Chowdown countdown is on the Travel channel, not food network.
What pisses me off is a lot of these shows are about the personalities, and don't actually show you how to cook anything.
I like DDD and Man Vs. Food and A. Bourdain, my favorite is Rick Bayless-One Plate at a Time.

bourdain actually had a show on the food network, which was basically a film crew filming him acquiring the material for his book 'A Cook's Tour', his followup to Kitchen Confidential - both great books. I think it was too edgy for the Food Network crowd, No Reservations is the best food/travel show by far. Zimmern is just a goofy vanilla bastard but because he goes to cool places, it is watchable.

I used to hate Flay, but what changed my mind was his Throwdown when he started acting very graceful to other chefs. I think he realized that he came across as a stupid arrogant prick during his standing on the cuttingboard era and nobody liked him.

Iron Chef is a great show. Guy's big bite is stupid, but Triple D is actually enjoyable. I can't stand Paula Dean, Barefoot Contessa, Sandra Lee or Rachel Ray, but those shows are for the midwestern housewives anyways.

Apparently there was not enough food related stuff in the show, or at least that's what the FN people said. I asked Bourdain when I met him and that's what he said.

Still ends up being a better show than just about anything else on the FN. I've ended up watching most of the episodes of No Reservations on Youtube. Would be neat to meet him! Though I get the feeling, both from his shows and his books, that he might not be the type of person you would want to spend a lot of time with. But then that's probably true of all the great chefs, tough people on average. Bourdain's been through a LOT in his life!
