I'm sitting here watching cops, and while many of the people are running from them, I have seen three instances in the past two episodes where the people where wrongly arrested imo.

One case was some guy who's bitchy ex-wife was just like "he broke in! he broke in!" and they arrested the dude. While he *might* have done it, I dunno.. there was certainly no proof whatsoever...

I wonder if it's like a plea bargain or something

"we'll let you go if we can air this on cops"

Maybe they knew him, or maybe they could tell by his reaction that he doesn't disagree with the accusation.

Arresting someone doesn't mean they'll be charged with a crime.

I saw one episode where this one cop really should have been in better shape. A guy ran from him and he took off after him. By the time that chase was over, I thought the officer was going to stop breathing he was gasping for air so hard. The suspect told the officer that he'd let the officer catch him. The officer begged to differ, but I think the guy did let him catch him. The suspect was barely winded and the cop was chugging air in and out so hard I thought he was going to pass out.

true, but it's still ridiculous imo. They shouldn't be able to detain/arrest someone over something like that.

I was pulled over once for having my foglights on during non-adverse conditions. They were stock bulbs (not blue or green or whatever people do).. I think he was just making sure I have insurance and a license.

okay WTGDF. There was some woman that just TOLD the cops she was on crack. She told them she smokes weed, crack, and drinks a lot.

After that, she was like, "OH, he pushed me too." This guy was like, I don't do crack, I do smoke weed though. She's addicted to crack and we've been trying to help her, etc.".

They arrested the guy.

What about the crack whore woman who admitted to doing all that crap ?? wth. whatever. this show is making me have less and less respect for cops. This woman is screaming and crying (WITH NO TEARS, very obviously putting on a show.)

Anyone have the video where there was an m3 or m5 that "broke down" when it actually got away from them?

Just because a person is arrested doesn't mean they will be prosecuted. If they are a suspect they may be apprehended, but if the evidence is insufficient they will be released (or bailed out or released on recognisance).

As for the out-of-shape officer, most people seem to forget that police typically carry over 20 pounds of gear on their belt, not to mention wearing the immobilizing kevlar vest. Even if they aren't out of shape, this added weight can really effect their ability to chase a suspect. Also, they almost always wear boots, which aren't exactly running shoes.
