So I got this new MSI motherboard, with an Athlong 64 in there. When everythings hooked up, and the power is turned on, the computers not posting. Power appears to be going to everything, but it's not booting. The board has these LEDs that indicate the problem, and it's saying the CPU is damaged or not installed. There appears to be no physical damage on the CPU, but I dont know. I dont have another motherboard to test the 64 bit processor in. So how do I know if it's the motherboard socket or the CPU?? Any ideas.

STATS TO THIS MACHINE:

MSI K8N Neo Motherboard (nForce 3 250Gb Chipset Based)
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (Socket 754)
Thermal Take 480watt PS
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB Video Card
768 of PC 2100 Memory

well, obviously make sure u have everything plugged in, and seated correctly. if u dont have another board to test it on, all u can really do is RMA it, and hopefully it was just a bad proc.

btw do u plan on flashing that 9800 to XT?

Thanks for your reply. Flashing the 9800 to an XT.... Didn't really plan on it. Do you think it would be worth it? I know my one friend just got a similar card and it was already setup as an XT. I dont really know anything about that stuff.
