Doing a speedtest at speedtest.net, Boston server (<50mi away), I used to always get 30mbit down and 25 mbit up. Always.
My other computers are connected wirelessly, through a WDS link on a pair of 150N routers.
My quad-cores also score around 30mbit down and 22mbit up.
Well, today, using my wired computer, I scored 5mbit down, and 11mbit up.
Is the internet really that crowded today, now that everyone is home and using the internet instead of going out? Or is my FIOS failing? Could it be the weather, does that affect fiber connections?

This was from my quad-core, connected wirelessly. Not quite as bad as my wired connection, but still not great.

This is from the wired computer.

Another one from the wired pc.

This one from the wireless quad-core desktop.

Wired computer, 9am the next day.

Quad-core connected wirelessly, 9:05am the next day.
