Rest of system:

Opteron 170 currently at 2530 (253x10) - max multi IS 10, have a feeling it can go much higher
Corasir 2G of ram, 2x1ggb sticks, 3200C2, can' run in dual channel,. and single channel at ddr361.. what a joke.

I dont know much about OCing on DFI boards as i have never owned one. However if you feel the BIOS rev might be holding you back why dont you try and flash to the latest version, or have you already tried this?

keep it under 1000. it really doesn't have that big of an effect on performance i dont think. just get your cpu as high as possible and dont worry about having perfect numbers

no, my probelm is that im being screwed over because of my RAm - which cant run up to spec of its ddr400, only ddr361,
and my fsb.
i have a feeling that my CPU is much more capable. see currently, my max fsb is 253, my max multi is 10, and therefore my cpu runs at both maxes at 2530.... limited!

Use a divider, it is doubtfull that your RAM is the reason your board will not exceed 253 HTT, like I said before, decrease your HT multiplier to 3x and in addition use a memory divider.

Also start over using a basic overclocking guide, you're attempting way too many things at once, overclocking is about isolation and consolidation.

Exactly!

The multiplier is locked so 10x is the maximum no matter what.

You might also need to increase vcore to obtain a faster core clock.

just is, my FSB sux0rs
