something wrong with my cpu???

so i am getting ready to part out my system. i take out my cpu and start cleaning the thermal paste off the chip, when i notice a bit of darkness on my cpu. cpu has been on stock clocks since the beginning of use. picture:

it's that little area at the top corner. is there something wrong with my cpu, or is it still good?😕

pins dont seem to be bent, right?

If it still runs properly, I'd say no. Did you overvolt the chip at any point, and if so, by how much?

i did not overvolt or overclock. an OCN user told me that it's nothing to be worried about as it is just discoloring. the chip was working fine before i pulled it out. i could be overreacting. i'm gonna go with his word though.

I don't think that's an issue. It's just surface marking.
