Something wrong with 7600 GT fan control.

I just got my Gainward GeForce 7600 GT. The problem is the tremendous noise the fan makes. During startup, which I guess is normal. Also when I play World of Warcraft, the fan runs slowly like when I'm reading the Anandtech forums, but suddenly it spins up real fast. However, it just randomly turns down the speed after a little while. This keeps going on and on and on and on and... You get the point 😛

Is it some way to at least keep it at a steady speed? Maybe a medium speed all the time, so that it didn't have to change from low to high?

I use Rivatuner to control my 7600gt's fan speeds. I set the 2d and "low power 3d" modes to both 25% making it silent when im not playing a game, then I set the regular 3d mode to 35% which makes a little noise but not near as much as it did before. The card temps will rise a bit though... before I changed the fan speeds it would load around 45C. Now it loads around 55C. 🙂
