Something weird

Two questions:

1)I just got my AYJHA 1.4 Athon Y-stepping, I got it overclocked to 1.6, I was expecting 1.7, any advice ?


2)Also, when I can run Quake3 timedemo for more than 1 hour without troubles but when I start 3Dmark 2001, it stops after just 10 sec, whats going on ?

No advice for the Athlon... 1.6 is pretty good for an AMD chip!!

I'd be happy with 1600 from a 1400

and about 3dmark.. not 100% sure but I thought some of the tests only run on a GeForce3 card... Maybe that is something to do with it?
in my past experiences with 3dmark2k, if the system has slight instabilities 3dmark tells you by shutting down.


so maybe you are just a little too far over, and try bringing the CPU down a few MHz and then running it again, and if still doing the same thing, then look elsewhere i s'pose..
