I'm wondering why the OP is claiming that the first lady is very important and is very involved in the governmental process yet had to skip the current first lady to find an example.

WHAT "Whitey" tape? Prove it, or STFU! :|

The one being speculated about here and a plethora of other new sources;

Michelle Obama?s problem with ?Whitey?

Rudy Giuliani may be out of the presidential picture for now, but he may swing the election towards McCain. According to Katy Grimes at Townhall, he has the sledgehammer that just may deliver Barack Obama a knockout punch, again, all because his wife has a big mouth.

The buzz about a tape surfacing of Michelle Obama ranting about ?Whitey? together with Louis Farrakhan and the Reverend Jeremiah Wright is interesting, if not a deal breaker. When it comes out, Barack will be permanently branded with the Nation of Islam - not a good tag when running for President of the United States.

The word is that one of the Republican candidates no longer in the race (Rudy) acquired the tape. Republicans will most likely hold the tape until the fall. Because if Hillary had it, she?d let it out now to get rid of Obama.

According to HillBuzz,

The Michelle Obama Rant Tape was filmed between June 26th - July 1st 2004 in Chicago, IL at the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition Conference at Trinity United Church: specifically the Women?s Event.

Michelle Obama appeared as a panelist alongside Mrs. Khadijah Farrakhan and Mrs. James Meeks.

For about 30 minutes, Michelle Obama launched into a rant about the evils of America, and how America is to blame for the problems of Africa. Michelle personally blamed President Clinton for the deaths of millions of Africans and said America is responsible for the genocide of the Tutsis and other ethnic groups. She then launched into an attack on ?whitey?, and talked about solutions to black on black crime in the realm of diverting those actions onto white America. Her rant was fueled by the crowd: they reacted strongly to what she said, so she got more passionate and enraged, and that?s when she completely loses it and says things that have made the mouths drop of everyone who?s seen this.

The ?tape? is a DVD that Trinity United sold on its website, and possibly offered free for download up until March 2008 when Trinity?s site was scrubbed and the DVDs were no longer offered for sale.

I guess this tape is kind of like God in that there is no way to prove it exists right now, but just because it has not shown itself yet does not mean it doesn't!

Can I get an Amen!

No. Thats not how it works. You don't get to make wild claims without something to back them up. For instance, You're a racist hick. Now I can't really make this claim without some kind of proof to back it up, like your responses in this thread. See how that works?

That rumor has already been negated by every credible source. Repeating it here, as "speculation" is simply a device being used by lying turds as an excuse to repost, regurgitate and extend the same "speculation" about the same fucking lies.

If you can't prove it, you're one of the lying turds. Either PROVE IT, OR STFU! :|

I have a tape of you having sex with a horse, but I'm not revealing it until October. Deny it all you want, but I'll let the people decide for themselves.

Do you see how your argument falls apart in this context? You're basically saying that something is true, but you can't prove it, but it's still true, and the proof may come out at a later date, but until then, we should hold it as true because the evidence exists, even if you can't produce it.... Tell us when you have the evidence in hand! Right now your claims have ZERO credibility, and only a fool would believe them.

The 2004 Rainbow/Push schedule can be googled.

Michelle Obama is listed as appearing as a "special guest" at a woman's event. It was scheduled at the Sheraton Ballroom, not the Trinity Church, and there were two reporters from an ABC affiliate MC'ing the session. Why on earth would a wife of a (then) candidate for the U.S. Senate (he declared his campaign in January 2003) use the term "Whitey" in front of two network reporters? If she had, why would they have not said something about it as part of the Senate race coverage, much less now?

Specificity of rumors does not always equate to accuracy.

He's not making a "wild claim". It's all over the internet, and comes from a Democratic source (albeit a Hillary supporter). He doesn't even claim it's real or creditable.

He's already supplied his (3rd party) source. That's all one can do, and more than most bother with, or are capable of.

Personally, I think the "whitey" remark is gonna turn out to be "why'd he". But we won't know until later. IF the tape exists as rumoured and is held by a Repub supporter, it's far too early to release it now.

I don't know why the ABC reporters have not said anything if it is true, perhaps they are staunch Obama supporters, or possibly because they are both African American they simply just agree with her. Maybe they just don't want to be the ones that spill the beans and kill Obama's chances. Think about it, if you are Africian American would you want to be the one responsible for ending the chance that an Africian American could be President for the first time?

Winston Churchill once said" There are a terrible lot of lies going about the world, and the worst of it is that half of them are true."

We will just have to wait and see which half this one lands on.

As for all of you who think Kucinich's wife is hot, I would not kick Mrs. Fred Thompson out of bed either. It might be a close hot wife race there.

Fern,

By repeating these slanderous words without check he is just doing those who thought this up justice. The response from the Obama camp is "prove it" and nobody has. This makes it a non issue until someone proves it. We can sit and speculate anything but really its just slander .

Thanks for coming out PapaGay

Please retire to your bedroom with papagay's partner.

Nice post

It's pure personal insult with no other commentary.

I also believe your use of homosexuality as an insult directed at him/her is out-of-line. IMO, it's more of an insult to homosexuals in general.

Please try more "Deftly attacking ideas and backing up arguments with facts".

Look at the difference between Cindy McCain and Michelle Obama.

Cindy

Michelle

I can see that Cindy is very compassionate for less fortunate (for all race).
Michelle, granted is very intelligent, but has done very little. But the little she has done was only for her race.

From my personal experience, most of African Americans have the mentality that "It's us vs them" (blacks vs whites)

I personally think Barack Obama will be a good president. I don't think he will have any problems, but I worry about his wife. I gotta feeling that if Obama gets elected, Michelle will be very vocal (preference over African American over whites)"

As a President of United States, I believe that the President and the wife should govern the country as a whole. But deep inside, I don't see that with Michelle.

*****************
Update:

When you vote for President, you are also voting for the first wife.. It's a package deal. If you don't agree with my thoughts, just post your reason. You don't ahve to bash.

Lonyo, thanks for your input. You are correct that Cindy did have more time. Cindy was born rich.

I just hope that if Barack does get elected, Michelle see the responsibilities as a Presidents wife and treat all race as equal.

Or maybe the "damning tape" rumor is based on a 1996 fiction novel...

P.S. Before attacking that source, you might want to look at what else he has to say about politics in the rest of his blog entries, hardly a liberal lover. He puts it this way:
Why is a conservative blogger putting this much effort into dispelling a rumor that, on paper at least, would hurt Obama? Because those who prefer a president besides Obama should not go through the summer and fall convinced that a magic-bullet devastating tape is going to appear as an October surprise to save the day.

What choice do you leave me? Your 'logic' is pathetic. Any idiot can tell this tape never existed, and that you continue to defend the lie and the liar just because you want it to exist.

But I've got to tell you, I think Cindy McCain is HOT -- especially for a 54 yr old. Best looking potential first lady to come along in quite a long time, IMO.

She probably thinks you're hot too. Just ask her. She'll probably go down on you in exchange for using your bathroom (and raiding your medicine cabinet).
