From my personal experience, that's about as racist as you can get.

Would it be better, if I would have said:

From my personal experience, African Americans I have come across have the mentality that "It's us vs them" (Blacks vs Whites)"

Because this is true and it is not a racist statement..

Considering you are speaking strictly from personal experience, all saying that would do is make me question the quality of African American individuals that you have chosen to get to know personally. Sounds like you have been hanging out with some racist scumbags. Birds of a feather I guess.

I have been friends with and work with plenty of Black people that do not think that way what so ever.

Given that Michelle is the daughter of a city employee, I don't think any of us have any appreciation on how hard she hard to work to get where she is now.

Please understand, I do not criticize Cindy McCain for being born rich, but still experiences shape us all.

We have survived all kinds of Presidents and their wacki wives, President Ford had an alcoholic wife that went on to inspire others, Nancy Reagan was seeing an astrologer, Barbara Bush impressed as being initially down to earth, but her Katrina comments disgusted many, Bill Clinton was married to Hillary, which has inflamed the right wing,
and don't get me started about the denial in Laura Bush. Marta Washington owned slaves, Mary Lincoln lapsed into mental illness, Dolly Madison was a hero, and each have
left a legacy.

Personally, I am not a bit alarmed about the prospect of a Michelle Obama or a Cindy McCain as the next first Lady. But I am voting for the Husband and not the wife. If Hillary had been fairest of them all in demo land, I would have been happy to have the first man.

This may be so in your personal experience and would definitely qualify as personal opinion, but what bearing does your life experience and opinion have on Obama actually serving as a President?

The "blacks" you have encountered certainly can't account for the entirety of the United States. Maybe if you had a poll with statistics showing that 99% of "blacks" feel it's "us vs them" then it would be a bit more understandable, but this opinion you've formed is nothing more than a stereotype.

A stereotype of an ethnic group based off or your personal experience.

It would have been better if you hadn't posted your lame racist bigotry, at all. The name in your profile, Allegro Papagayo, appears to have references to Costa Rica. If that's where you're from, would you like it if someone posted the same thing about all Costa Ricans?

Because this is true and it is not a racist statement..

At a minimum, it shows extreme ignorance. If the only African Americans you see are as short sighted and narrow minded as you, you need to spend much more time in much more of the real the world.

Your profile also says you're from Cincinnati. I live in L.A., a much bigger, and probably more diverse city. We have our share of racial tensions and divisions and racially oriented gangs, and still, I know far too many intelligent, educated, professional people of various racial backgrounds, including African Americans, who despise that violence and stupidity as much as I do.

If you're not open to interacting with people from other cultures, all I can say is, you're depriving yourself of on a lot of the best parts of human interaction.

Michelle Obama will be a campaign issue, and (most likely) historically important as the 1st Black woman to be First Lady.

I have heard a lot of good stuff from my wife about Cindy McCain, kinda surprised me. :)

But I agree with others that Michelle Obama, given her rather young age and keeping in mind she has two young kids (very time consuming), can't possibly be expected to have the body of charitable work that Cindy McCain has.

First Ladys also glom on to some cause that seems to define their *reign*. No doubt MO will be expected by many to champion a cause for, shall we say, a *certain group*. OTOH, she will also be expected to represent ALL citizens. How she handles this will be constantly analyized and commented upon.

Papagayo, did you see on that Wikipedia page you linked about Cindy McCain's drug addiction and theft from the charity see ran? If Michelle Obama had committed crimes like that in the past the news media would have been all over it.

She will be a campaign issue for sure and she maybe even a campaign killer if the aleged ?Whitey? tape is real, is as bad as some who say they have seen it make it out to be, and it does surface.

America as a whole seems to be pretty forgiving of people who go to rehab.

With your type out there I'm sure of it existed it would have already surfaced.

OK between the two which one is more likely to raid your medicine cabinet and steal your Meds if they had asked to use your bathroom? If you said Cindy Stepford..err McCain you'd be right.

I'm sorry, but Cindy McCain is frightening. The idea of her running the country in any capacity is downright scary.

I'm not saying Michelle could run it any better, but I'd be more comfortable to some extent.

Talk about frightening. If I ran across the 5'11" Michelle-beast in an alley, I would be very scared.

This thread is just so stupid. How could Michelle Obama, someone extremely close--perhaps the closest--to Barack Obama possibly affect his politics or thoughts. It's just silly.

Not necessarily, if McCain?s people have it like has been claimed then they will wait until October to release it, because that?s when it will do the most harm and there will be little time for anyone to forget about it or try and sweep it under the rug.

Well, Obama has call you and your ilks out on this by saying it's a lie. He's shown his card by calling people like you liars. What's your response? 'Wait 'til October?'
