It's been going on for years now by all the big multi-national food corporations...it started in the late sixties and wasn't perfected until 1973 when a certain Mr.S Griswald developed a procedure to freeze flies instantly before they dry out. They are then processed through giant rollers that tumble the little critters until those pesky little legs and wings break off. Then they are mixed into the batter and baked still frozen so that by the time the batter is ready, the flies are just thawed-out. Firm yet still soft and semi-squishy.
